Radiofrequency Ion Thruster, Model RIT-22.

High performance, Advanced ion propulsion for commercial, scientific, deep space and interplanetary missions.

RITA-22 is an advanced Radio frequency Ion Propulsion system designed to meet the requirements of future commercial and scientific missions.

The thruster can achieve a nominal specific impulse up to 6,200 seconds (6,400 demonstrated) and will be qualified for a design life in excess of 10,000 hours.

The RITA-22 system is already at an advanced stage of operation, testing and development and will be qualified in 2007.

RIT-22 advanced radiofrequency ion thruster.

RIT-22 Thruster

The RITA-22 ion propulsion system is already at an advanced stage of development based on the evolution of Astrium existing space qualified RITA-10 systems and supported by an experienced team of European partners and established hardware.

RITA-22 offers large scale advantages for a wide range of applications based on 40 years of heritage and World record breaking achievements.
