Analysis and modelling of rocket engine dynamic and transient processes performed by Astrium's fluid dynamics team at Ottobrunn, Germany.
Main Activities
The main activities of the fluid dynamics team are the analysis and modelling of dynamic and transient fluid processes associated with liquid propellant rocket engines. This experience has been used to support the design of the:
- Thrust chamber of the Aestus upper stage engine for Ariane 5.
- Thrust chamber of the Vulcain main engine for the core stage of Ariane 5.
- Propulsion system of the upper stage of Ariane 5.
- Thrust chamber of the Vinci upper stage engine of Ariane 5.
